Waiting for UVerse

I wrote not long ago on my personal blog, Missing Link, about my recent woe’s with Comcast’s broadband internet service. It was enough to make me want to do nothing short of get rid of comcast at any cost. I was pleasantly surprised to find that AT&T is finally offering UVerse service here in my area. While I may not exactly be a fan of AT&T (as a company), they are the only alternative to Comcast. My friend Trevor already has UVerse and says that, while it has some areas that need work, it’s pretty cool. I guess I will find out soon enough, eh?

Overall I am both looking forward to, and dreading, the Install on Monday. This is an older house and the wiring for these kinds of services is not easy. I’ve heard reports from some people that the AT&T installers are able to run cat5 to the TV’s for the set top boxes – I’m not sure yet if I’m going to want them to do that, or if I’m going to want them to use the existing Coax. I may just bite the bullet and have them do the cat5. We’ll see. They also are quoting me about 5-8 hours for the install, so this ought to be interesting.

Once I’ve got it all set up and such I will post on here the details :-)
